Yeah, well I can do this.

It's just I'm a modest guy and don't go around telling people about it.

the new patch for WoW is out! Gee, why would this bugger my buggery receptacle?

Cause I can't &#@$ play it. Every time I try to load it an error message comes up, and when i try to use the sweeping thing that THEY provide it does nothing, it sits on its ass for an hour and doesn't fix the problem. I've scanned at least 4 times. Nothing. Is it working for any other fellow WoW folk?

#$@#%ing Sunwell.

I only got 3 hours sleep last night and I'm REALLY tired but I still can't get to sleep. Orb Lune

Also nobody will play a game I got called Tummy Aids (as we have re named it). Sure, it may be a game for ages 3-10 but nothing is as enjoyable as screaming TUMMY AIDS at the top of your voice. Orb Lune

Hahahaha, why are people so stupid?

Quote:
Others, however, see it as the embodiment of racial and sexual stereotypes, that it's a depiction of an aggressive, black man in a King Kong-like pose, embracing a white woman, a Fay Wray-like "damsel in distress."

LOOK HOW DISTRESSED SHE IS! SHE HAS ALL BUT GIVEN UP HOPE AS SHE IS BEING HELD CAPTIVE BY THE AGGRESSIVE BASKETBALL PLAYER. BASKETBALL PLAYERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TIMID. IT MUST BE BECAUSE HE'S BLACK.

I simply don't have enough sarcastic all-caps statements in my repertoire to convey my disgust with that statement.

I think the last paragraph in that article pretty much sums it up.

And in thinking about this story, I couldn't help but wonder...what's the more racist response to the cover: to see racial stereotypes and object or to not notice race at all?

Yeah, and never mind that race is socially constructed to BEGIN with and that there's the same amount of genetic variance between two people of different races as there is between two people of the same race. Not to mention that you're "black" if your ancestry is African, Australian Aborigine, or Caribbean, and that different countries in Africa have widely different culture and customs and that Australia and the Caribbean are not related AT ALL.

And people like Halle Berry, Barack Obama, and Tiger Woods are considered "black," even though they're half-African at BEST (Tiger Woods is all kinds of stuff...I think he's part Asian, for instance). This seems like a throwback to America's one-drop rule, since in South Africa, it's the opposite: If you're not 100% African, you're one of the whiteys.

The entire concept of race is ridiculous.

Incidentally, I kind of have a feeling that if it was a white sports star and a black model on a magazine cover, people would still think it's racist. They'd probably say she looks like his sex slave or something.

Er, wouldn't that be sexist, rather than racist? I agree with your other points, in any case.

No, it wouldn't BE either one. They'd just think "YOU HAVE A WHITE PERSON AND A BLACK PERSON NEXT TO EACH OTHER. THAT'S RACIST!"

And they'd think it really loud and obnoxiously, like a caps lock thought.

I feel I should point out that dpaladin's post there was reply 666, making Tommy's post number 666 in this topic. Make of that what you will.

I think I mentioned this before, but every time someone puts a dollar sign in Microsoft, it makes me a little more disappointed with the Internet.

The fact that my family won't get it into their thick skulls that Chinese food makes me feel sick.

Like, my parents just went out to get some now and I asked if for ONCE they could order something for me on the english menu so I won't feel sick all night but NOOO! £2 is WAY too expensive to spend on roast chicken and chips and they call me a fussy little girl for being ill for the rest of the night. Roll Eyes Lune

Someone with 3 brain cells could work out that it isn't doing me any good. Roll Eyes Lune

I don't like much Chinese food either. We're not fussy little girls, we're very special little girls.

Losing an hour of sleep because of the blasted farmers or something. Plus I have my paper round tommorow.
